I would like to share the poem that I wrote about my Granny shortly after arriving in Cordele to help family care for her - "GRANNY"
Her hair is always fresh and white, like newly fallen snow
Her heart is so genuinely true, for everyone she came to know
Her lessons and her morales, upon which she firmly stands
and passes down through our generations, with a loving and helping hand
This beautiful and gentle woman is a "Rock of Solid Ages"
Through her many countless trials and tribulations of her lifes many stages
Her six wonderful children are her focus and her world
They are five strong willed boys, and one beautiful baby girl
Emory, Ray, Lee, Walt and Jake carry on our family name tree
Mary Ann oversees her with loving care, with a lil' help from me
Never is there a question or doubt, Granny has forever given us her all
In turn asking for nothing at all, simply a visit or a call
She seems very tired and often so very weak
Yet still only wants her family to share love and therefore to have peace
Granny is now resting so peaceful, as our lives go on and on
We can look to heaven for her smile shining down, assuring us Jesus has our Angel home
"GRANNY'S DAILY PRAYER" Heavenly Father thank you for this day, thank you for this food, but most of all Dear Lord, thank you for all the many blessings you have bestowed upon us....Lead us and guide us and bless us oh Lord, in your precious name we pray....AMEN
