Obituary for James Randy Turner

James Randy Turner, 60, died Saturday night, Sept. 10, 2016 at Navicent Health and Medical Center in Macon, Ga.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2016, at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Dooly County. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., Monday, Sept. 12, 2016.

Randy was born in Vienna, Ga. to the late James Thomas Turner, Jr. and the late Louella Sheffield Turner. Randy was privileged to have a second mother, Naomi Ruth Christmas Turner, who also precedes him in death.

Randy was self-employed in construction and a member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church. He enjoyed woodworking, collecting knives and arrowheads and being a baseball coach. The greatest thing he enjoyed was being grandpa and pop to his grandchildren.

Surviving Randy is his wife: Kay Mathis Turner of Vienna; his sons: James Adam Turner and his wife Shea of Vienna and John Robert Bracewell, Jr. of Cordele; his daughters: Stephanie Faison and her husband Kory of Vienna and Pamela Kay Bannister and her husband Joe of Moultrie; his brother: Tony Turner and his wife Kathy of Vienna; and his precious grandchildren: Camden Turner, Blake Kirby, Brandon Kirby, Olivia Faison, Tyler Bannister, Brady Bannister and Kaitlyn Bracewell.

Randy was known as a giving person. The family suggests that memorial donations be made to the American Diabetes Association, 1701 N. Beauregard St., Alexandria, VA, 22311-1733 or the American Heart Association, 7272 Greenville Ave., Dallas, TX 75231-5129.
