Obituary for James Larry Stripling

CLAYTON, GA — Funeral services for James Larry Stripling, 64, of Mt. Airy, Ga., formerly of Warwick, Ga., will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, May 21, 2015 at Lake Blackshear Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Warwick United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., Wednesday, May 20, 2015.

Larry died Saturday, May 16, 2015 at Mountain Lakes Medical Center in Clayton, Ga. from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. He was born in Cordele, Ga. to James Y. and Earline Stripling. He is preceded in death by his brother Chris Stripling and his father.

Larry was a meat cutter for Ingles Supermarket and a member of the Baptist faith. He was a model train enthusiast and loved motorcycling. Most importantly, Larry was a very devoted father and grandfather that taught his family his great work ethic. Larry also served his country as a veteran of the United States Navy.

Survivors include his wife Janice Stripling of Mt. Airy, Ga.; his mother and step-father Earline S. (Glenn) Smith of Warwick.; his son Jason (Claire) Stripling of Winder, Ga.; his step-son Bryan (Rhonda) Woods of Cordele; his sister Judy S. (Harry) Martin of Warwick; his granddaughters Aubrey Stripling and Edie Stripling; his step-granddaughters Payton Woods and Loralye Woods; and his nephews Brian (Karen) Allison of Fort Walton Beach, Fla. and their sons, Blake and Robbie, and Chris (Sandy) Allison of Temple, Ga. and their son, Ryder.
