Obituary for Mary B. Hall

Funeral services will be held for Mary B. Hall, 88, at 3 p.m., Friday, March 9, 2018 in the chapel of Hughes & Wright Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Penia Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 1:30 p.m.

Mrs. Hall died at Crisp Regional Hospital Tuesday, March 7, 2018. She was born in Hoopeston, Illinois to the late William Edward Brandenburg and the late Nora Belle Floyd Brandenburg. She was the widow of John Thomas Hall, Jr. She is preceded in death by her son, Tommy Hall, and her brothers: Raymond Floyd, Kenneth C. Brandenburg, Lloyd I. Brandenburg and Glenn E. Brandenburg.

She was a dedicated member of Penia Baptist Church. She was involved in all aspects of church life, including the WMU, the choir, VBS and any other way she was able to serve her Lord. She was a former member of the Cordele Business and Professional Women’s Club and retired owner of Hall’s Cleaners.

She is survived by her daughters: Connie (Harry) Minshew of Rochelle, Ga. and Linda Clements of Forsyth, Ga.; her grandchildren: Paul (Kim) Minshew and John (Sonie) Minshew; her great-grandchildren: Kelsey Tomlinson (Justin) Hobbs, Jesse Tomlinson, Zack Minshew, Raygan Minshew and Claudia Minshew; her two great-grandchildren: Kimber Tucker and Ava Hobbs; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family also desires to acknowledge and thank Mrs. Hall’s caregivers: Donna Goodman, Myrtice Lewis and Barbara Jean Roberts. They were angels in disguise and sent by God to care for Mrs. Hall. We appreciate your love and devotion of our mother.

The family suggests that memorial gifts to be made in Mrs. Hall’s memory to the Penia Baptist Church Building Fund, 3738 Old Penia Road, Cordele, GA 31015.
