Funeral services for John Mitchell “Mitch” Childers, 64, will be held Thursday, Feb. 8, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of Hughes & Wright Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Sunnyside Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2018 from 5:00 P.M until 7:00 P.M.

Mr. Childers died Monday, Feb. 5, 2018 at his residence. He was born in Vicksburg, MS and lived most of his life in Cordele, Ga. He was born to the late William Childers and the late Dorothy Parker Childers. He was a retired parts sale Representative at Harris Press for 40 years. Mr. Childers was Methodist. He was a graduate of Crisp County High School and Albany Technical College. He loved fishing for crappie with his life long friend Rusty Parker.

He is survived by his daughter: Meghan (Johnathan) Grove Capana, of Laplace, LA, brothers: Bill (Diane) Childers of Lithia Springs, GA. and his twin brother Mike Childers of Rochelle, Ga., one granddaughter River Rosabell Campana of Laplace, LA. and several nieces and nephews.
