CORDELE — Polly Goldsberry, 83, died Sunday, August 20, 2017, at Crisp Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at in the chapel of Hughes & Wright Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Lakeview Baptist Church Cemetery in Sumter County.

Polly was born in Crisp County to Wilbur Grantham and Offie Addison Grantham. She is preceded in death by her first husband, Samuel Davis Walls, and a brother, George Thomas Grantham.

She was a lady with a high work ethic and worked in the cafeteria at Union High School in Leslie, the Manhattan Shirt Factory in Americus and in later years at Wal-Mart as a greeter. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Leslie where she was involved in the choir and was a member of the Senior Sunday School Class.

Polly is survived by her husband: Teddy R. Goldsberry of Cobb; her sons: Jimmy Davis Walls of Wimberly, Tex. and Larry T. (Cindy) Walls of Cobb; her daughter: Brenda Napier Lynn of Cordele; her siblings: George (Fran) Walls of Leesburg, Margaret (Jerry) Peterman of Albany, Sara Ann (Don) Knight of Leesburg and Edwina (Jerry) Johnson of Americus; her grandchildren: Brandon Walls, Jenny Garrett, Ashton, Garrett, Lauren Walls, Tyler Walls, Shane Napier, Shannon Napier, Doug Walls, Dave Walls, Dusty Walls, W M Goldsberry, Chase Goldsberry, Seth Willard, Noah Willard, Alyssa Willard, Christy Singletary and Ashley Goldsberry; and her step-children: Timothy Goldsberry of Cumming, Lisa D. Willard of Locust Grove and Scott Goldsberry of Cumming; and 11 great-grandchildren.
