Graveside funeral services for Lucille Veal Lawson, 85, will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, March 9, 2017, at Zion Hope Methodist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Lawson died Monday, March 6, 2017 at Bolingreen Health & Rehab in Macon, Ga. following an extended illness. The family will receive friends at 116 Parklane Place in Macon from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., Wednesday, March 8, 2017.

Mrs. Lawson was born in Cordele, Georgia during the Great Depression to the late Armoy Veal and the late Lucy Griffin Veal. She is the widow of William Lawson. She is also predeceased by her son: Larry F. Coffee; her brothers: L. J. Veal, Dallas Veal and Robert Veal; she was also predeceased by a grandson, Chris Cannon.

An expert in the care of hair and makeup, she was a retired cosmetologist that enjoyed assisting her clients look their best for both daily and special occasions. During her early life, she enjoyed music and its rhythm which led to her enjoyment of dancing as well. Her greatest enjoyment was her family and especially the arrival of grandchildren to love.

Mrs. Lawson is survived by her sons: Donald K. Coffee and his wife Carole Yon of Mechanicsburg, Penn. and Ronald L. Coffee, Sr. of Macon, Ga.; her daughters: Barbara Coffee Bryant of Macon, Ga. and Debra E. Coffee of Juliette, Ga.; her grandchildren: R. Lane Coffee, Jr., Wynde Carol Cox and her husband James and Lauren Taylor Coffee; and her great-grandchildren: Chanel Rose Cox and Penelope Jade Cox.
