Graveside funeral services for Virgil Lee Moncrief, 82, will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, March 3, 2017, at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Mr. Moncrief died Tuesday morning, Feb. 28, 2017 at his residence. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m., Thursday, March 2, 2017.

He was born in Cordele, Georgia to Henry Moncrief and Susie Evans Moncrief. He was a retired truck driver for Clary Logging. He is preceded in death by his wife, Lillis Melba McKenzie Moncrief. He loved his truck driving and enjoyed fishing as long as he was able to do so.

He is survived by his son, Vance Moncrief, and his daughter and son-in-law, Jan and Joey Smith all of Cordele. His three grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren also survive.
