Obituary for Jimmy Clements

Jimmy Clements, 83, died Saturday night, Feb. 11, 2017 at Crisp Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2017 at Third Street Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in the Owensboro Community in Wilcox County. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 p.m. until 8p.m., Monday, Feb. 13, 2017 at the funeral home.

Mr. Clements was born in Wilcox County, Ga. to the late Edgar Felton Clements and the late Delia Goodwin Clements. He was an active member and Deacon at Third Street Baptist Church and also a former teacher of the Junior Boy’s Sunday School Class. He lived on Lake Blackshear for 52 years and was an avid fisherman and hunter. He was a member of the Tri-State Archaeology. He was a retired mechanic from Gold Kist and a veteran of the United States Army.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years: Frances Clements of Cordele; his sons: Scott (Sherri) Clements of Byron and Rev. Tracy (Lynn) Clements of Fitzgerald; his sister: Judith Griffin of Irwinville; and five grandchildren: Candice C. Fletcher, Stephanie Clements, James Clements, Emily Clements and J. T. Clements.
