Elwood B.  Davis
Elwood B. Davis, 86, died Thursday evening, Feb. 2, 2017 at Cordele Health & Rehab. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 5, 2017 in the chapel of Hughes & Wright Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Sunnyside Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the funeral beginning at 2 p.m.

Mr. Davis was a native of Ben Hill County and was the son of James Harmon Davis and Ruby Watson Davis. He attended the University of Alabama returning home to operate Southern Home Improvement from where he retired. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and a member of the Cordele First United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his brothers: Roe (Kathryn) Davis of Cordele and Gene (Betty) Davis of Demopolis, Ala.; and several nieces and nephews.
