Obituary for Willie Eloy Rhodes
PITTS – Willie Eloy Rhodes, 78, passed away Sunday afternoon, Feb. 7, 2021, at Crisp Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2021, at Pleasant View Baptist Church Cemetery in Wilcox County.
Mr. Rhodes was born in Pineview, Georgia to George T. and Doris Davidson Rhodes. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings: Geneva Marshall and her husband Carl, Joyce Powers and her husband James, and Royce Rhodes. He was a retired machinist and shop manager for 42 years at Harris Press. He was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife: Shirley H. Rhodes of Pitts, Ga.; his children: Ritchie Rhodes and his wife Marcy of Cordele and Rhonda McDuffie and her husband Robbie of Perry, Ga.; his siblings: his twin brother Billy Rhodes and his wife Peggy of Acworth, Ga., Thelbert Rhodes of Pitts, and Margaret “Sue” Crandford of Macon; their grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Daniel Owens and his wife Amy and their children Ava and Autumn Owens all of Cordele; Heather Smith and her husband Campell and their child Norah Smith; Nicholas Owens and his wife Heather of Nashville, Tenn., Abigail Owens of Perry, Will Rhodes of Cordele, Kate Rhodes of Cordele, and Dylan McDuffie, and Ryan McDuffie of Perry, his sister-in-law: Jamie Sue Rhodes of Pitts; and several nieces and nephews.
