VIENNA - Anthony Aaron Knox, aka Tony Knox, of Vienna, Georgia went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday July 12, 2020 at the age of 40.

In lieu of flowers the family would like to ask for donations to Tony’s wife and children to help with any health and medical expenses. You can donate via Venmo (@Leia-Knox), PayPal (, or GoFundMe (Tony’s Journey).

Tony Knox was born on November 2, 1979 in Orlando, FL. He spent his childhood years in the Tampa, Florida area and his adolescent and teenage years in Marietta, GA where he attended Pope High School. His family moved to the Dallas Ft Worth area in 1996 but Tony soon found his way back to Georgia. From there he moved to Athens (in spite of his dedication to being a huge Florida Gator fan) where he met the love of his life, Leia in 2000. In 2003 they wed in Kauai, HI and later that year began a family with the arrival of their first daughter, Skylar.

Tony worked as a manager of Firestone in the Atlanta area until 2007 when the arrival of their second daughter, Hope, redirected his vision and ambitions for raising a family and so they moved to Cordele, GA to be closer to family. He accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior in the beginning of 2008 and believes this to be the best decision he has ever made. He was a transformed man and loved to meet people and share his story of redemption to those he came in contact with through his job as a Termite Inspector with National Termite and Pest Control.

In 2010 Tony and Leia had their third daughter, Bella. In 2013 he became an employee of Helena Industries in Cordele, GA. He loved working, training and leading people and took pride in his work ethic and motivation to succeed in excellence in all he did. His most recent sought-after career accomplishment came just last year when he was promoted to Area Manager of the Liquid Division.

Tony and his family were avid members of First Baptist Church of Cordele for many years where Tony faithfully served in many capacities such as the Student Ministry Leader, ordained deacon, Upward Soccer and Basketball coach, as well as served on a mission trip to Moldova. For the last three years he and his family have been members and faithfully serving at Pinehurst Baptist Church where he was the Production and Sound volunteer as well as one of the Student Ministry leaders.

If you knew Tony in the last 13 years you knew that his love and passion was hunting. He was in his element in the deer stands or turkey blinds on the farm in Wilcox County. He also enjoyed yearly duck hunting trips to Arkansas with his father in law and friends. He also was a team member of an adult soccer team for several years. Tony believed he was living his best life most recently when he moved his family to their dream home in rural Vienna, GA where they spent most all their free time on the weekends hanging out with their friends and fellowshipping with family. Everyone loved Tony and enjoyed his company. He loved to laugh, tell stories of his past, have dance off competitions in the living room, and grill out in the garage on his most recent pride and joy, his Pit Boss. As a 10-year running joke, Tony was self-labeled the “Chic Magnet” due to the blessing of being the father of three girls. Skylar, Hope and Bella were his pride and joy and he was the adoring husband of wife, Leia. He also always joked that he felt a sort of gender balance with having all male animals: his two dogs, Rambo (12) and Milo (1) and cat, Charlie.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 17 years, Leia Knox; his children Skylar Marie (16), Hope Elizabeth (13), and Bella Grace (9); his beloved parents Aaron Rea Knox III and Linda Letizia Knox; his sisters Heather James (Steven) and Heather Jenson (Jeff); as well as many nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins; his in-laws Steven Crenshaw (Cindy) and Cherie Camp and his brother in law, Evan Crenshaw.

Tony’s Memorial Service will be private for family only on Thursday, July 16, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Hughes and Wright Funeral Home in Cordele, GA. It will be live streamed on Hughes and Wright Funeral Home Facebook page.
