CORDELE – Roger Walters, 78, died Saturday night, May 9, 2020, at Navicent Medical Center in Macon. Due to the COVID 19 pandemic and governmental restrictions, the family will have a private graveside service.
Mr. Walters was born in Cordele, Ga. to Viola Corrine Shaw Walters and Guy Melton Walters. He is preceded in death by his wife: Carol Warren Walters; and his siblings: Melton “Pete” Walters, James Walters, Faye Irvin and Helen Barefoot.
He is the retired co-owner of Walters Garage and served his country by serving in the U. S. Army. He was a member of the Vienna Church of God and attended the Pitts Church of God as well. He was a hard worker that provided for his family. He enjoyed baseball and especially watching his grandson play ball.
Surviving Mr. Walters are his children: Aimee (Mike) W. Jordon of Athens and Brad (Shannon) Walters of Cordele; his siblings: Charles Walters of Hawkinsville, Thomas Walters of Eastman, and Annette Crager of Lakeland, Fla.; and his grandchildren: Bunnie C. Jordon, Brittany Wonderlic, Sydne Carter and Noah Walters.
