Obituary for Mary Satterfield

CORDELE – Mary Satterfield, 94, passed away Sunday morning, Feb. 21, 2021, at Fellowship Home at Cordelia Manor. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Feb 25, 2021, at Pulaski Bleckley Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2021. Due to the Covid pandemic, seating is limited, masks are required, and social distancing should be maintained.

Mrs. Satterfield was born in Homer, Ga. to John Bryant and Lillie Etta Evans Jump. She is preceded in death by her husband, J. C. Satterfield. She is also preceded in death by her son, Buddy Castleberry, her grandchildren, Craig Castleberry and Casey Courson, and 10 brothers and sisters.

She formerly worked in the clothing manufacturing business at Jack Arts. She attended Lakeview Baptist Church in Cochran and was a member of the choir. She enjoyed traveling and being a seamstress. But, most of all, she was a homemaker for her family.

She is survived by her children: Peggy Meadows and Cletia J. Holland and her husband Walter all of Cordele ;her daughter-in-law: Edith Castleberry of Hawkinsville; her grandchildren: Randy Darsey and his wife Fredrica of Cordele, Terry Darsey and his wife Karla of Cochran, Tammy Spurling and her husband Andy of Cordele, Matthew Courson of Cordele, and Christy Abney and her husband Brian of Hawkinsville; her step-grandchildren: Kim Winter and her husband Shawn of Tifton and Corey Holland and his wife Jackie of Watkinsville; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
