Obituary for Martha Hobbs Whitman
Graveside services for Martha Hobbs Whitman, 87, will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, June 16, 2019, at Sunnyside cemetery. The family will receive friends at Hughes and Wright Funeral Home, Saturday, June 15, 2019 from 5-7 p.m. Mrs. Whitman passed away Thursday evening, June 13, 2019 at High Cotton Home in Vienna, Ga.
Mrs. Whitman was born in Byromville, Ga. to James M. Davis and Eula Dupree Davis. She was the widow of James Loyce Hobbs and Joe Whitman. She is also preceded in death by her daughter, Martha Jean Clark; her granddaughter, Mindy Preston and her daughter-in-law, Sharon Hobbs.
She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and was also a homemaker.
She is survived by her son: Loyce Hobbs Jr. of Pitts, Ga., daughters: Carol (Tom) Culpepper of Cleveland, Ga., Gail (Joe Lynn) Preston of Unadilla, Ga.; brother: Jack (June) Davis of Warner Robins, Ga.; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
