Obituary for Joshua Perry "Cowhorn" Calhoun
CORDELE — Memorial services for Joshua “Cowhorn” Perry Calhoun, 39, will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 7, 2019 in the chapel of Hughes & Wright Funeral Home. There will be a time of gathering and visitation one hour prior to the service.
Josh was born in Cordele to Chesley Perry Calhoun and the late Brenda Sue Guined Calhoun. Josh fought a long hard battle with cancer until his last moment early Monday morning, Nov. 4, 2019. He was a member of Northern Heights Baptist Church. He enjoyed woodworking and being known as a great cook and grill master. He was a sports fanatic and video gamer. He was also known as an avid tennis shoe collector.
He is survived by his wife: Becky Calhoun of Cordele; his father: Chesley Perry Calhoun of Cordele; his sister: Felicia C. (Jeffery) Cammon of Saint Simons Island, Ga.; his step-daughters: Samantha “Sam” Dorough, Emily Pettis and Katie Pettis all of Cordele; and his niece: Perry Y. Cammon.
The family suggests that memorials be given to the American Cancer Society (donate3.cancer.org) or to Pruitt Hospice, 708 East 16th Avenue, Cordele, GA 31015.
