Obituary for Jerry Heard
CORDELE — Jerry Heard, 78, of Vienna passed away Monday, April 20, 2020, at Crisp Regional Hospital. Due to the COVID 19 pandemic and governmental restrictions, the family will have a private graveside service.
Mr. Heard was born in Waterloo, Ga. to the late Evelyn Gertrude Shifflett Heard and the late Milford Jackson “Jake” Heard. He is preceded in death by his brother, Gary Neal Heard. He was a self-employed electrician and retired from the Dooly County Board of Education. He had served in the Georgia National Guard and was a member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years: Faye Bullington Heard of Vienna; his daughters: Jenny Heard (Mike) Bankston of Wrightsville, Ga. and Janet Heard (Jim) Kelly of Perry, Ga.; and his grandchildren: Amelia Grace Kelly and Carson Alexander Kelly.
