Obituary for Harvey Black
Harvey Black, 70 of New Bern, N.C,. died Monday evening April 20, 2020, at his residence, Due to the COVID 19 pandemic and governmental restrictions, the family will have a private graveside service. Burial will be in Sunnyside Cemetery.
Mr. Black was born in Vienna, Ga to Bernice Lorene Nutt Mixon and Thomas Reuben Black. He was a retired rig operator. Mr. Black served as a U. S. Marine during the Vietnam War. He was involved with marine bridge construction assisting with the building of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge.
He is survived by his brothers, Douglas (Sharon) Black of Harrisonburg, Va., Tom (Connie) Black of Macon, Lewis Lamb of Leesburg, Ga., William (Angela) Lamb of Cleveland, Tenn. and John R. (Mary) Lamb of New Bern, N.C.; his sisters: Betty (Lewis) Harrison of Phoenix City, Ala. and Sarah (Dean) Green of Jacksonville, Fla.
