Obituary for George Truitt Odom Sr.
WARWICK – George Truitt Odom, Sr., 71, passed away early Wednesday night, April 14, 2021 at Navicent Health in Macon, Georgia. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, April 17, 2021, at Sunnyside Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., Friday, April 16, 2021, at the funeral home. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, seating is limited, masks are required, social distancing should be maintained.
Mr. Odom was born in Cordele, Ga. to Jack Benjamin Odom, Sr. and Katie Mae Posey. Fondly known as “Big Truitt,” he was a member of Northern Heights Baptist Church. His love for the Lord was well known. He was a people person, never meeting a stranger, and enjoyed tilling God’s land as a farmer.
He is survived by his wife: Ann Odom of Warwick; his son: Truitt (Tiffany) Odom, Jr. of Cordele; his brother: J. B. (Carolyn) Odom, Jr. of Warwick; and his grandchildren: Grace Odom, Aubrey Powell and Drew Powell.
