Obituary for Douglas B. Boothe

CORDELE – Douglas B. Boothe, 73, passed away early Friday morning, April 16, 2021 at Crisp Regional Hospital. Services will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, April 19, 2021 in the chapel of Hughes & Wright Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Sunnyside Cemetery Veteran’s Section. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, seating is limited, masks are required, social distancing should be maintained.

Mr. Boothe was born in Harrisonburg, La. to the late Elbert B. Boothe and the late Lucille Moreland Boothe. He is also preceded in death by his brother, Robert G. Boothe.

He was a retired electrician for Harris Press and served his country during the Vietnam War in the U. S. Army 173rd Airborne. He was a lifetime member of the DAV, Chapter 27, Albany, Ga. He was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church

He is survived by his wife: Peggy Boothe of Cordele; his children: Albert Boothe of Louisiana, Douglas B. Boothe, Jr. of Cordele, and Jamie Lee also of Cordele; his siblings: Jackie LeFleur, Marvin C. Boothe, Maurice “Nikki” Boothe and Debra A. (Joey) Tarver all of Texas; and his six grandchildren: Christopher Boothe, Chelsea Boothe, William Posey, Kaylee Posey, Serenity Dunlap and Cataliyah Dunlap
