Obituary for Denzil V. Cofer
Funeral services for Denzil V. Cofer, 95, will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, March 26, 2019 at the Cordele First Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at the church from 1 p.m. until time of the service. Burial will follow at Arabi Cemetery.
Mr. Cofer passed away Sunday, March 24, 2019 at Crisp Regional Hospital. He was born in Wenona, Ga. to Jesse Monroe Cofer and the Elizabeth Matthews Cofer. He is preceded in death by his wife, Geneva Pipkin Cofer, his grandson, Josh Garland, and 10 siblings. Mr. Cofer was a member of Cordele First Baptist Church and a member of the Baraca Sunday School Class. He also served as a Deacon. He enjoyed gardening and fishing. Mr. Cofer was an avid fan of the Atlanta Braves and the Georgia Bulldogs.
Mr. Cofer was survived by his daughters: Gale C. Booth and Denise (Larry) C. Worthy all of Cordele, Ga.; his grandchildren: Matt Booth and Zack Garland; his great-grandson: Cofer Garland; and his granddaughter-in-law: Nikki Garland.
