Obituary for Darrell C. Robertson
Funeral services for Darrell C. Robertson, 75, will be held at 4 p.m., Friday, Aug. 30, 2019 in the chapel of Hughes & Wright Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 29, 2019 at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Sunnyside Cemetery Veteran’s Section.
Mrs. Robertson died Tuesday night, Aug. 27, 2019 at Crisp Regional Hospital. She was born in Ashburn, Georgia. She was the daughter of Obie Dyer Brooks and Carrie Lou Smith Brooks. She is the widow of Bernum M. “Robby” Robertson. She is preceded in death by a daughter, Twylla Reneè Powell, and her siblings, Sybil Culpepper and Hugh Brooks.
She was a member of Sharon Baptist Church and loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was an office clerk for Cordele Uniform for a number of years. She enjoyed gardening and especially the beauty of the flowers she grew. She also was a wanderer enjoying her motorhome travels.
She is survived by her children: Tony (Karen) Powell and Tonya (Bo) Guined all of Cordele; her step-daughter: Belinda Robertson of China; her siblings: Carrie Mae (Kenneth) Allison and Milton Brooks all of Cordele; her grandchildren: Stephen Guined, Blake Guined, Clay (Aubrey) Johnson and Brittany (James) Pike and Michael (Jess) Powell; her great-grandchildren: Annaleigh Green, Cooper Powell, Finley Kate Powell, Zack Guined, Marilyn Guined, Bonnie Guined, Jackson Johnson, Carlee Bellamy, Tristen Bellamy, Gavin Bellamy, Brantley Bellamy, Faron Pike and Gracelynn Pike; a very special friend: Gary Figge; and several nieces and nephews.
