Mrs. Smith was born in Crisp County to the late Samuel Jackson Walls and the late Nannie Sanders Walls. She was the widow of Paul Smith. She is also preceded in death by her grandson, Randy Fultz; and two brothers, Sanders Walls and George Walls. Mrs. Smith was a retired school teacher having taught for 40 years for the Crisp County Board of Education and for three years at the Third Street Baptist Church School. She was a faithful member of the Penia Baptist Church and a member of the Alpha Delta Kappa sorority.

She is survived by her daughter: Paula Faye Owens of Cordele; a sister: Audrey W. Hobbs of Cordele; sister -in-law: Helen Davis of Cordele; her grandchildren: Ricky Fultz and his wife Deborah of Cordele, Rusty Fultz and his wife Lisa of Green Cove Springs, Fla., Denice Terry and her husband Richard of Rochelle, Ga., Charles Owens and his wife Faye of Cordele, nine great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
