Obituary for Christopher Michael "Chris" Hancock

FIRESTONE, CO — Visitation will be held at Hughes & Wright Funeral Home in Cordele Friday Sep. 4, 2020 from 2 p.m. until 4:45 p.m. followed directly by a graveside service in Sunnyside Cemetery in Cordele. In accordance with the COVID-19 regulations, face masks or face coverings are suggested and seating will be limited due to social distancing requirements.

Christopher Michael Hancock, 33, Firestone Colorado, died Friday, August 21, 2020, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born Sept. 12, 1986 in Cordele, Chris was a Cyber Security Engineer with Baker Hughes. He was a member of First Christian Church in Salem, Virginia, and baptized at Vienna First Baptist Church.

Survivors are his wife, Amanda Kay Hancock; his children, Amber Rose Hancock, Xander Kai Hancock, Asher William Hancock and twins, Harper Evelyn Hancock and Piper Marie Hancock; his parents, Barbara Hancock and Michael Hancock (Janet); his sister, Jennifer Johnson and her children, Austin and Ethan (father Chris Johnson); his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Rob and Melissa (Missy) Green; his brother-in-law, Sam Green; and other relatives and friends.

Chris enjoyed video games, coffee, poker, traveling and baseball, but found the most joy in spending time with his family and best friends, Trey Jackson and Andrew Wehunt.

Family visitation was also held Aug. 27, 2020 at Howe Mortuary & Crematory in Longmont, Colorado.
