VIENNA — Charley Will Wilkes, 90, of Vienna died early Friday morning, Sept. 18, 2020, at his residence. Services will be at 4 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 19, 2020 in the chapel of Hughes & Wright Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Oliver Cemetery in Dooly County. The family will receive friends Saturday, Sept. 19, 2020 from 3 p.m. until the hour of the funeral. In accordance with the COVID-19 regulations, face masks or face coverings are suggested and seating will be limited due to social distancing requirements.
Mr. Wilkes was born in Dooly County, Ga. to the late Kate Lackey Wilkes and the late Dequesta Wilkes. He is the widower of Sallie Massey Wilkes. He is also preceded in death by his son, Jimmy Wilkes, and his siblings Mary Ruth Kelley, Dorothy Simmons, Rufus Wilkes and Adele Collins.
He was a longtime member of Drayton United Methodist Church and also attended the Vienna Church of God. He enjoyed farming and raising cattle. He also enjoyed attending local livestock auctions and Gospel Singings.
He is survived by his children: Wayne Wilkes, Roger (Judy) Wilkes, and Gail (Ricky) Clements all of Vienna; his grandchildren: Chris (Michelle) Wilkes, Whitney Wilkes, Casie Wilkes (David Raybon), Katelyn (Seth) McAllister and Cody Clements; and his great-grandchildren: Chase Raybon, Junior Nichols, Colby Nichols, Ryder Wilkes, Trey Wilkes and Brantley Wilkes.
