Obituary for Charles Oscar Hayslip

Charles Oscar Hayslip, 74, died at his residence Monday night. He was born in Warwick, Ga. to Benjamin Franklin Hayslip and Minnie Lee Hayslip. He was a carpenter during his working life. He was known for his fine craftsmanship. Though he may have seemed to be tough, he would give you the shirt off of his back. If you knew him, you loved him.

He is survived by his wife: Ruth Atkins Hayslip of Cordele; his children: Billy Joe (Angie) Hayslip and Martha Lee Hayslip (Scotty Tripp) all of Cordele; his siblings: Christine Cobb, Barbara Ann McCarty, B. F. Hayslip, Connie (Robert) Gonzalez, Sheila (Larry) Matthews, Debra (Kenneth) Pittman and Ralph (Jackie) Hayslip all of Cordele; his grandchildren: Haiden Hayslip, Noah Tripp, Chad Hayslip and Cheyenne Hayslip (Asa Coody) and his great-grandchild: Rand Coody.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, July 13, 2019 at Bethlehem Freewill Baptist Church, 142 Old Coney Road, Cordele, Ga.
