Obituary for Billie Mae White (Dowdy)

ASHBURN — Billie Mae Dowdy White, 86, died Friday, Dec. 11, 2020, at PruittHealth in Ashburn, Ga. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, Dec. 14, 2020, in the chapel of Hughes & Wright Funeral Home. Due to the Covid pandemic, seating is limited, masks are required, social distancing should be maintained. Burial will follow at Sandy Mount Cemetery in Crisp County.

Billie Mae was born in Crisp County, Georgia to James Richard and Allie Lou Coley Dowdy. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Lavonda Bailey, and her siblings, Betty Rollins, J. R. Dowdy, Jr., and Theda D. Ward.

She is survived by her children: Ricky Milford and his wife Vicki of Odenville, Ala, Reggie Morris and his wife Marcia of Hawkinsville, Ga., Kenny White and his wife Sabrina of Cochran, Ga., and Billy White and Gwen White both of Cordele, Ga.; her grandchildren: Amanda Hatcher and her husband Brian, Allison Patterson and her husband Will, Elizabeth Horton and her husband Jerry, Jennifer Yansom and her husband Russ, Jeremy Forehand, Krystal Collier, Casey White and his wife Candy, Kara White, Brent Honeywell, Carson Honeywell, Alli Brown her husband Matt, David Bailey, Mallory Holley and Dowdy White and his wife Erin; several great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

The family suggests that those desiring to make memorial contributions to do so to Sandy Mount Cemetery, 1515 East 20th Ave., Cordele, GA 31015.
