Obituary for Betty Jean Hunt (Wade)

CORDELE – Graveside funeral services for Betty Jean Wade Hunt will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 23, 2021 at Sunnyside Cemetery. She passed away Wednesday night at Crisp Regional Nursing and Rehab. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, seating is limited, masks are required, social distancing should be maintained.

Mrs. Hunt was born in Crisp County, Georgia to Homer Jackson and Bertha Stevens Wade. She is preceded in death by her husband, James “Jimmy” Gibson Hunt. She is also preceded in death by her siblings: John Wade, Sr., Berchel Wade, Sr., Elizabeth Perry, Howard Wade, Leymon C. Wade, Sr., Edsel Wade, Sr. and Doc Edwin Wade, Sr. She was a retired educator in the Dooly County School System and the Crisp County School System. She was also a retired owner of Hunt Trucking Company. She was a member of the Wenona Baptist Church and enjoyed sewing and cooking in her spare time.

She is survived by a special nephew: Doc Wade, Jr. and his wife Regina of Oakfield, Ga.; a sister-in-law: Bobbie Nell Wade of Arabi; and other loving nieces and nephews as well as great-nieces and great-nephews.
