CORDELE – Graveside services for Sybil Jones Williams, 97, will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 21, 2018 at Sunnyside Cemetery. Rev. Bobby Carpenter will officiate the service. The family will receive friends before the service at the funeral home at 2 p.m. until time to depart for the cemetery. Mrs. Williams died Thursday, Oct. 18, 2018 at Fellowship Home at Cordelia Manor which is 33 years to the day following her husband’s death.

Mrs. Williams was born in Cordele, Ga. to Burtus Jackson Jones and Clydie Pearl Smith Jones. She is preceded in death by her husband, John Short Williams, and a brother, Burtus Jackson Jones, Jr.

She was a homemaker and worked for Ryals Drug Store. She was a member of the Pinehurst Baptist Church and graduate of Cordele High School.

She is survived by her daughter: Beth W. (John) Noble of Vienna; her son: John S. (Frances) Williams, Jr. of St. Simons Island, Ga.; her four grandchildren: Wendy Williams (Jason) Logan of Macon, John Short Williams, III of Pinehurst, Tonya E. (David) Noble-Moore of Austin, Tex. and Anna Leigh Noble of Sherman Oaks, Calf.; and two great-grandchildren: Jason Logan and Lily Frances Logan.
