Graveside funeral services for Cecil Eugene James, 80, will be held at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, September 15, 2018 Zion Hope Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church beginning at 1 p.m. until time to depart for the service. Mr. James died Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at his residence.

Cecil was born in Cordele to Jesse Arrington James and Estelle Perry James. He was a retired meter reader with the Crisp County Power Commission. He served his country in the United States Air Force. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. He loved the outdoors and deer hunting.

He is survived by his wife: Erika L. James of Cordele; his sons: Cecil M. (Kathy) James of Cordele and Jesse E. (Wendy) James of Kathleen, Ga.; his grandchildren: Nicholas (Chasity) James, Stephen (Amber) James and Tiffany James; his great-grandchildren: Mikayla James, Collin James and Remi James; and good friends: Bo and Fay Presley.
