CORDELE -- Mildred Smith, 69, of Cordele, died Saturday, Feb. 26, 2005, following a traffic accident. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 1, 2005, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Hughes & Wright Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday, February 28, 2005, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Mrs. Smith was a native of Wilcox County and a retired Crisp County Health Department nursing assitant. She was the daughter of the late Joe Buddy McBryant and the late Louvenia Gilliam McBryant. She is preceded in death by a son, Danny Joe Penny. Survivors include her daughter: Elaine P. Eggleton of Mars Hill, NC; brothers: Alton McBryant of Pitts, Bill McBryant of Pitts, Verlon McBryant of Rochelle and Dwayne McBryant of Rochelle; sisters: Nell Murray of Cordele and Louise Hall of Seville; grandchildren: Corey Penny, Kimberly Penny, Shannon White and Michelle Messer; and eight great grandchildren.
